Lyme in Rhyme

Author: Geri Rodda, R.N.

Library of Congress Control Number 2005910903

This children's book is beautifully illustrated and easy for children to understand the importance of Lyme disease. It is a valuable tool that should be used to teach youngsters what Lyme disease is, how they can get it, what they can do to prevent it, and what to look for if they suspect a tick has attached itself to them or their pet. The book also expresses the importance of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease early.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reviewed this book and gave it a glowing recommendation. There was also a review by the Director of Health in New Milford, Connecticut and a medical doctor, Jacqueline Collentine.

In the back of the book, Rodda has graciously made available of frequently asked questions -- like what time of year can you get Lyme disease. There is also included a "note to parents" and important websites for more information.

This is the only book I have seen for children with regard to Lyme disease and I highly recommend it for physicians' offices, schools, and other facilities where children frequent.

The book may be ordered through Pumpkin Hill Productions, LLC, P.O. Box 165, Hawleyville, CT, 06440. It's one of the best investments of $7.95 that you'll make.
