Today, Norm Goldman Publisher & Editor of Bookpleasures.com is excited to have as our guest, seven year- old and first time author Dalton James author of The Sneakiest Pirates.

Good day Dalton and thanks for participating in our interview.

Norm:

Dalton, why are you interested in pirates and writing about them?

Dalton:

I like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and like to read about pirates.

Norm:

How many books do you read in a week and which ones interest you the most?

Dalton:

I read about 5-10 books every week.  I like the books about animals and science the most.

Norm:

What made you want to write a book about Pirate Pete, his dad, Scurvy James and Pirate Peg Leg Chuck?

Dalton:

I wanted to write a book and daddy asked me what I would like to write about.  We made a list of things I liked and would enjoy pretending to be.  I just chose the pirates to start with and do the others later.

Norm:

How much writing do you do a day and what do you write about?

Dalton:

I write my books and then during the school year I write in my writing journal every day.  I usually write about my day or about superheroes.

Norm:

Have you become more popular in school as a result of your first published book? How do your school- mates treat you?

Dalton:

My friends still treat me the same.  The only thing that changed is that all my class now wants to write books.

Norm:

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Dalton:

I want to be a karate instructor, a police officer or a doctor.

Norm:

If you could meet anyone in the world, who would that be and why?

Dalton:

Eric Carle.  Because I like his books and he’s cool.

Norm:

If you could wish for anything, what would that be?

Dalton:

I wish I had my own cell phone.

Norm:

Are you planning on writing another book? If so, could you tell us a little about the story?

Dalton:

I have written my second book, “The Heroes of Googley Woogley”.  It is about my dad and I going into space.  It starts where The Sneakiest Pirates ended.  We go into space and help a group of aliens called the Sadoos defeat the evil Sadonts.

Norm:

Where can our readers find out more about you and your book and is there anything else you wish to add to our interview?

Dalton:

They can find my book’s webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/thesneakiestpirates.  They are more than welcome to send me an e-mail from the page.

Thanks once again and good luck with The Sneakiest Pirates. I hope you sell many many books.
