A glance at the back of this book and you are promised you will learn that this “warrior diet” can help to increase your strength, speed and resilience to fatigue. You will also learn the ideal food combinations that can actually reduce body fat.
As soon as I read this I dived into the book and couldn’t stop reading. Ori talks about how it is possible to eat more at night - not more in the daytime like most of us have been taught to do. He explains more on this theory and helps people who want to diet his way understand how it can be beneficial.
People often eat out of habit - Ori says you should only really eat when you feel famished this way you can enjoy the foods a lot more and be all the more healthier for it.
He also explains when you’re eating and you begin to feel thirsty this is the time to stop as it is the first indication that satisfaction is coming. It means you now need more water than food - this is the time to think about finishing your dinner or lunch. Take time for the signals to reach your brain to tell you that you are full.
Slowly, Ori promises, you will learn to understand when you are full.
After eating you may feel tired - this is the time for relaxation. Watch TV or read. Do something that makes you feel peaceful and completely relaxed.
Ori also tells us which drinks are OK to have after a meal. Decaf coffee, cappuccino, latte, espresso and even hot chocolate - if used in the right way.
After reading this I was amazed. A diet we can actually enjoy! I couldn’t believe that this man was serious but he reassures us he is.
Still I’m not sure that it is a diet for everyone but it is certainly a diet I like. For instance the author claims that vegans and vegetarians live longer with lower rates of mortality from cardiovascular disease or even cancer.Great news for me. Find out more -read this book.
We move onto nuts and seeds and amazingly the author says if you try and increase your intake of almonds they can actually give you a body odour of almost a vanilla-almond scent. Amazing but true. He also lists the nuts and seeds and gives their benefits and also the down-sides. For example walnuts are most nutritious and contain omega-3. However since their fat content is very high Ori says you should eat no more than a handful or two at any one time. And to avoid indigestion eat walnuts in moderation.
What if you like your sweet things and have a sweet tooth? There is a section on what kind of “sweet” foods and desserts are best. So hopefully if you have a sweet tooth like me you should be able to find a meal that suits you.
I wouldn’t say that this diet book is aimed at women - I think the author intended it to be more helpful to men but there is a section dedicated to “Women on The Warrior Diet”. Helpful to know that Ori has taken into account that us women may like to try it out too.
I rather liked chapter 14 which explains The Warrior Workout and teaches us to work on our muscles and arms and legs.
There is something in this book for most people but I’m not sure if it is the kind of diet book everyone will enjoy. It all depends what you are after. Some may love the diet others may find it a little harder to stick with.
But don’t let me be the judge, grab this book now and get in shape for summer - what better excuse?

Discreet Methods of Biological Warfare by Marjorie Tietjen
How many of us are burdened with chronic disease or know a friend or family member who is totally or partially disabled? It is almost as if it has become normal and accepted for a large portion of the population to be ill with conditions or "autoimmune " diseases which have no known definitive tests, causes or cures.Certainly our diet and the chemicals in our environment play a significant role in determining our state of health. However, we need to begin to question as to whether...
