Savage Land of Jur by Tom Johnson flings you back into the prehistoric dinosaur age. The main characters, Odette and Ron, have separately happened upon a time portal that has transported them to the Jurassic Period. They’ve fallen in love, married, and are now looking for a race called “The Ancient Ones” that are no longer able to reproduce whom they believe are the key to finding their way back home.
Odette and Ron face many perils.
“The scene unfolding before her eyes caused her heart to stop its beating. Below, she saw a giant spider, as large as a German Shepherd racing for Ron. He appeared to be helplessly trapped within the spider’s web.
Was he dead, she wondered aghast at the very thought?
As she stood paralyzed in terror, Odette saw her mate slash out a knife to cut the giant arachnid. Realizing her husband still lived galvanized her into fast action.”
The couple face one close call after another. Odette is eventually captured by one of the Ancient Ones and brought to a city where they believe a time portal exists. It is up to Ron and a friendly race of ape people to rescue her.
Savage Land of Jur by Tom Johnson is an exciting read for science fiction fans with plenty of romantic adventure. It has something for everyone as Odette and Ron try to find their way out of Jur and back to their own time.
Tom Johnson is a twenty year veteran of the military and has a successful career in law enforcement. Savage Land of Jur is one of a series of books set in the land of Jur.
