Lost Land of Jur by Tom Johnson

The following review was contributed by: SHERRY L.STOLL

Lost Land of Jur by Tom Johnson takes you on another scientific adventure through time portals in the Jurassic Period. This time our hero is early 1900’s pilot, Jack Richards. He’s learned of Jur’s existence and vows to experience it for himself. He meets and falls in love with the exotic beauty, Mai Ling, from the 1960’s who has accidentally slipped through another time portal. A language barrier exists between them until technology is used on them created by the “Ancient Ones”, a superior scientific race that can no longer reproduce. They then can communicate with each other and many of the ape people on Jur.

Mai Ling is captured by one of the Ancient Ones for scientific testing. Jack tries to work his way back to her as he fights many perils including a jungle fever.

As for Jack Richards, he wasn’t aware of anything at present. He had seen the mighty saber toothed cat attacking an unwary ape, and yelling as loud as he could, he tried to warn them of the danger. When they did not respond, he watched in a dizzy mist as one of the big males ran to meet the killer beast. Raising his rifle, Jack wiped the sweat from his eyes once more, and took as good aim as he could, then pressed the trigger. The recoil of the big rifle knocked his weakened body to the ground, and he was unable to rise again. He didn’t know if the bullet hat hit the big-toothed monster or the ape creature. He felt himself losing consciousness, knew he must be close to death. H e mumbled, “Mai Ling,” and her beautiful face filled his mind as he lost consciousness.”

Lost Land of Jur by Tom Johnson is a thrilling scientific romantic adventure. It has something for everyone as Jack and Mai Ling uncover the secrets of Jur.

Tom Johnson is a twenty year veteran of the military and has had a successful career in law enforcement. Lost Land of Jur is one in a series of books set in the land of Jur.
