Rosie Snowdrop Wants a Passport by Author-Henrietta Hawkins: Illustrated by Nell Bond:Foreword by Jilly Cooper

Rosie Snowdrop, a Westie with a wonky ear, is devastated that she can't go to France for the year with the rest of the family because she doesn't have a passport. When Poppy and Sam's passports arrive in the post she hatches a plan to make her own. However, her friend Bodger spoils the idea with the news that homemade passports just won't do.

Rosie really misses Sam and Poppy, but one day a crowd of dogs see a poster in the newsagents window. Rosie and Bodger go to see what's going on and discover that now dogs can have passports, too! Excited at the prospect, Rosie has the necessary injections and photos taken, and sets off to France. Will she make it and will she find Poppy and Sam?

Rosie Snowdrop Wants a Passport is a delightful tale for children and highlights the plight of family dogs before pet passports were introduced. The illustrations, drawn by 12-year-old Nell Bond, capture the imagination and effectively bring the story to life.
