Melissa sees ghost. In fact, she's a ghost magnet! There are so many ghosts in her house that she keeps them corralled in one room until she has time to help them. You see, Melissa helps bound spirits cross over.
Melissa Van Rossum's Their Way Home is a collection of true encounters with spirits. Each chapter is a short story: the ghost in the car, the ghost in the closet, the soldier ghost, the playful ghost, the sad ghosts -- they're all here. Some are confused, some are angry, but they all have one thing in common: They all want Melissa's help.
This book is not a collection of old campfire scary stories. The author presents these stories as real experiences. Melissa shares her experience as a ghost guide with respect for the spirits and advice for others who see spirits, which is nice because most people aren't open about the subject.
My favorite chapter was about Melissa's father. She saw him for a few days after he passed. She shares the experience as the joyful gift it was. Some of the stories were harder to read -- the remnants of battered lives lost. Melissa writes with compassion and sheds a little light on the subject at the same time. Literature and Hollywood would have us believe that ghost are evil and dangerous. Melissa's ghosts seem the same in death as they were in life -- if ghosts are real, that makes perfect sense.
Their Way Home is the Chicken Soup for ghost lovers.

I’m inclined to agree with this; but I will say that it’s not actually a bad way of picking which book to read. I’ll admit most reviewers base their selections on something a bit loftier—something with more social or artistic reasoning behind it. And...
