Sparkie Wyk is a wonderfully written and delightful children’s book; spreading cheer not only through its adorable characters, but through its colorfully designed pages. The story is bound to warm the hearts of old and young alike, as parents and grandparents read it to the very young.
A baby dragon earns the name ‘Sparkie’ when it helps the villagers of the small community of Chelsea Mews by drying out all the firewood and melting the freezing cold that has the village locked in a frozen embrace. The author’s young character teaches children the act of neighborly love and kindness through the efforts a young boy called Little Elfbert.
Although the villagers were skeptical at first, since their village had been destroyed years earlier by some very ill-mannered dragons, through brave Little Elfbert, they learned to trust and love the family of dragons that lived high on the snow covered mountain above the village.
Sparkie Wyk was a joy to read.Straight from the author’s heart.
