Marvin L. Zimmerman is a businessman, publisher and author. He has always been a bit of a fantasist; one of his dreams, in particular, is the genesis for this book.
So intrigued by his dream, Zimmerman woke his wife and recounted it to her on the spot. The next morning, Zimmerman could still clearly remember the “events” in accurate detail. And there The Ovum Factor was born.
A life-long environmentalist, he enjoys the natural world and as a traveller, has witnessed first-hand the destruction of the environment.
He hopes that by writing this book, it will serve as a reminder that the earth is fragile and it is essential to look after it and protect our natural resources.
Currently working on a second novel, Zimmerman lives with his wife Maisie and son, seven-year-old Eric, in Montreal, Quebec.
I found this rather an unusual story in that it turns its attention to the issues we are facing today - for instance climate change.Something that I believe most people will be interested to read about. However bear in mind this is a fictional story.
David Rose, a young investment banker, is assigned to a diligence mission with an eccentric biophysicist. He must find a molecule that has the ability to create a “genius race”.
It is believed David holds the key to possibly saving the world from future global problems so this appears to be the right mission for him.
His adventure takes him from New York to California, to China and the slums of Rio de Janeiro and into the depths of the Amazon. This is a journey that could change the course of history and save mankind in doing so.
It is hard to write a review on this book without giving too much away. I shall mention though that this is a very gripping novel with so many unforgettable places that lodge in your memory for a long time after turning the last page. It contains many twists and turns along the way and characters that grow on you. It is written in a very easy to read style which adds to the overall enjoyment of this book.
This is a tale that gives you lots to think about - it is very philosophical. For instance, how aware were you that every year the Amazon shrinks by 6,000 to 12,000 square miles?Inside Marvin’s new book, he explains all.
A very impressive story full of keen observations and a riveting adventure. Read this and
share Zimmerman’s passion for nature and the environment.
