In Alaska Justice Mike Kincaid has created a masterpiece of adventure, suspense, intrigue, and humor. His writing style reflects his warmth and dedication to his fellow officers and his work; it is hard to tell which he loved most—his life as a law enforcement officer for the great state of Alaska or his writing. He seems to put his all in both.
Mike’s character ‘Jack Blake’ embodies all the characteristics and personal accomplishments that would probably fill the hearts and minds of all young rookie troopers just beginning their careers all around the country.Jack’s sense of family and self makes him a character to which any reader could relate and love.He faces each new obstacle with the same strength of purpose and faith; accepting each stumbling block as one more chance to learn something about the new environment in which he finds himself. With each transfer his description of his newly inherited dwelling reminds me of the classified ads which depict a house for sale as a ‘propitious fix-ur-upper’.However, in his descriptions, his demeanor was one of acceptance rather than complaint.
Mike Kincaid did a wonderful job taking his reader through the beautiful and rugged outback that is Alaska. One could almost feel the bitter cold and the awe of the snow covered mountain peaks as we look down from the aircraft’s windows. It is an exceptional writer who can take his audience to far away places without having to leave their easy chair. You come back knowing you have truly been there, seeing the sights that he has seen and doing the things he has done.
Alaska Justice is a must read book. You will enjoy it from its exciting beginning to its surprising ending.Truly unforgettable.Good luck, Mike, don’t let this be your last.

There are three separate subplots with three separate main characters. This causes the story line to be somewhat convoluted. It would have been better to tell the story in first person from the POV of each character. It would have made it easier to read. The writing is...

Some of you readers may ask, why Alaska?
As pointed out in the introduction to Larry Kaniut’s book entitled Cheating Death: Amazing Surviving Stories From Alaska “although other states encompass wilderness in which the citizens confront peril, no state can match danger on an Alaskan scale. Alaska is twice as big as Texas. Alaska’s coastline is a long as that of the rest...
