There is so much more to existence than we can fathom with our limited 5 physical senses.  The authors of the Orb Project share with us their experiences with photography and the spheres of light which manifest in many photographs taken by the authors and others around the world. It is thought that these spheres or orbs of light are emanations of spirits and not the actual spirits themselves.  An example given in the book to try and portray this idea is that when one drives along in a car at night, the headlights are an indication that a person is driving inside the car but the headlights are not the actual person.

Ledwith and Heinemann relate some of the ideas of quantum physics to the orb phenomenon.  The authors share scientific reasons as to why they feel some orbs are actual emanations of spirit where others are merely reflections of particles of dust or drops of moisture.  Their extensive experience with photographing orbs leads them to many different conclusions.  The different facets of orb investigation include the different colors and intensities, movement of orbs, under what circumstances orbs seem to congregate, different shapes of orbs, electromagnetic qualities and more.

The authors encourage others to photograph orbs and they give many tips as to how to best capture these emanations of light on film.  There are many photographic examples included in the book, however, in the uncorrected reader's proof that I was given, the photos had not yet been included. The Orb Project was fascinating without the photos so I can only imagine how interesting and informative the book must be when readers can compare the writers' findings along with the actual photographs portraying these findings. Being curious as to what orbs really looked like, I found some examples on the computer. I then went through some of our own digital photos and found a few that actually seemed to contain authentic orbs.

An important point, which is brought out several times in the book, is that more orbs are captured with digital cameras than with cameras which use film.  The reason given is that digital cameras are more sensitive to the appropriate frequencies or parts of the light spectrum where orbs are visible.

Ledwith and Heinemann feel that these orbs are of spiritual origin and that possibly they are becoming more frequently visible to a growing number of people....for the purpose of communication. Actually some of their experiments include communicating in primitive ways with these orbs.  I think it's safe to say that the authors feel that the human race needs to begin paying more attention to matters of the spirit...before it is too late.  I would like to leave you with a quote from page 142.  "In spite of the overwhelming evidence - albeit all anecdotal in the critic's eyes - that the Spiritual realm is for real, a domineering fraction of humanity acts as if it were not, and this misguided action has brought the world to the brink of self destruction.  Acceptance of the Spiritual reality will receive a strong boost, perhaps the boost that will bring humanity over the hump, when it becomes credible in the eyes of the scientific community."

Anyone who has a curiosity about the "unknown" should find this book of great interest.

Two of them are about one person, written by the person and his spouse. In the space of a few pages, each account took me deep into the psyche of the sufferer. I got a close-up view of the problem. The accounts are totally frank, since the participants in this project have chosen this way to...
