Travel to New Heights with “Climb Denali.”

“Climb Denali: A Reflective Journey” takes the reader from the base of Mt. McKinley (called “Denali” in Athabaskan Indian) to the summit with breath-taking photos and commentary.

“Climb Denali” is a mountain-lovers book, as well as a book for the curious.  More than just a book in the traditional sense, “Climb Denali” is a photographic journey as author Laurent Dick brings the reader with him on his journey.  With one captivating photo after another, Dick brings the mountain to life, all the while illuminating powerful and universal truths about our own uniqueness, vulnerability, and inner ability to do more than we ever thought possible.

From his first declaration that he “climbs as I overcome the obstacles in my life,” to the final images, Laurent Dick combines metaphor and reality seamlessly as he encourages and invites his readers to make their own personal journeys to the top of their personal mountains.  “Climb Denali” is reminiscent of the most poetic and powerful photographs captured on film.  Brilliant color and majesty leaps off of every page as the reader uncovers and discovers a mountain that has long captured the imagination of the entire world.

“Climb Denali” is a collection of amazing photographs and thoughtful reflection by the author and some of his fellow climbers.  “Climb Denali” blends facts and trivia and basic knowledge about mountain climbing with personal reflections from climbers of all ages, experiences, and places.  No matter how different each climber is, their love and respect for the mountain and the power of nature is evident on every page of “Climb Denali.”

If you are looking for a book that will take you on a pictorial journey the likes of which you have rarely experienced, look no further than “Climb Denali.”  Through visual cues and literary representation, “Climb Denali” leaves the reader with echoes of the perfection and peace that is only found as you sit in silence gazing out at one of the wonders of the world and contemplating your own mortality.

Laurent Dick is the author of “Yukon Quest – A Photo Journey” and co-author of “Alaska – A Photo Memory.”  Dick is an established professional photographer, mountaineer, and guide, having worked in Alaska for the past ten years.
